The Trojan Evolve campaign is succesfully running since last June (2007). These days Trojan Condoms launched a sub campaign called Evolve One, Evolve All. Evolveoneevolveall.com is a community project inviting everyone to contribute and help Trojan to donate 1′000′000 condoms to people in need.

Celebrities, musicians, filmmakers, artists and consumers are invited to lend their unique voice to the campaign by creating digital content that describes the state of sexual health in the United States. The content (some of which will feature familiar celebrity faces like Josh Lucas, Alan Cumming, Gloria Reuben, Shwayze, Dana Delaney, Giancarlo Esposito and Matthew Modine) will then be viewable online and open to ratings, comments etc.

Trojan is also taking the message directly to the people with their Trojan Evolve National Tour, which includes a 40-foot interactive bus and virtual “Scream Machine” rollercoaster ride. I thought their machinery and equipment are quite impressive, so here are some shots:

Lately there’s been a lot going on in the fashion condom world. On one side it’s condom brands being more fashionable and on the other side it’s the fashion industry raising awareness. NARS who marketed their products with Orgasms and Sins and Deep Throats in the past brings a limited edition of NARS condoms.

And it’s not without a little grin on my face that I’m featuring NARS’ Safer Set (Sephora exclusivity) on condomunity today. Halloween is just around the corner and I thought I’d give a short guide to be perfectly condomized on the night out. You see, we get quite some traffic from people coming here looking for a condom costume. It involves four steps:

First if you don’t want to make your hands dirty and do a fashion condom costume with 4000 condom wrappers yourself, then just google something like condom costume and you’ll find enough material to work with. After your costume decision, we’ll add bags, a condom ringtone and the appropriate condom party lights. Off we go.

Yes sure, condom fashion has been done before it’s nothing new. Brazilian artist Adriana Bertini for example devotes her whole time to condom dresses and art projects. But nevertheless it was a very special occasion last Wednesday (15th of October) when national designers met for the “Evening of Hope Condom Couture“.

The fashion show organized by the nonprofit AIDS/HIV advocacy charity Project Inform and hosted by Project Runway’s Jack Mackenroth showcased local and national designers’ fall collections — along with a signature piece partially made of condoms. Jack Mackenroth made a wedding gown for this event:

The Royal Air Force Regiment sent out 20′000 condoms this year in an effort to attract recruits. The RAF Regiment is the RAF’s specialist infantry unit trained and equipped to protect military aircraft, people and bases.

Because of the low awareness of the RAF Regiment they decided to a direct marketing campaign to 20′000 males between the ages of 18-24. They received condoms mounted on cards with the slogan: “Apply to weapon when on manoeuvers” as you can see on the picture below.

The tongue-in-cheek creative concept involves a condom as it’s part of every day life in the RAF Regiment. For example, Non-lubricated condoms make excellent water carriers and are very light and compact when not in use. In fact there are many, many military uses for a condom as the rest of their letter shows:

UK Scout Association has launched their new guidance to promote good sexual health amongst their members. Leaders will now be able to give confidential sexual health advice and ins some cases they are even allowed to give out emergency condoms on trips to the almost 500′000 scout members.

Now to get hold of these emergency condoms either your physical or mental health must be likely to suffer as specified by the Fraser Guidelines. Actually condoms are the ultimate survival kit anyways. With the rigth education you can start a fire or create emergency water carriers. Isn’t that what the scouts are about (there you have it critics!)? But of course it’s not just about condoms:

When have you heard about condoms for the first time in your lives? I bet it wasn’t as early as in your first grade (at least for me it wasn’t). Apparently some schools in China start as early as that with illustrated sex education guides which I thought were good fun to look at.

I think China is trying to catch up with full speed and that can only be a good sign. Just shortly before the Olympics the Chinese condom brand Elasun received great coverage for a brilliant Olympic condom campaign.
